Come enjoy the daylight and Spring Break at our evening fun race on Wednesday, March 14!

Where: Creamer’s Field trails, meeting and race day registration in the farmhouse
When: Wednesday March 14, race day registration 5:00-5:30 pm, meeting at 5:30, first team out at 6 pm
Who: One, two, or three dog teams

The annual ASPA skijor race on the UAF West Ridge trails will take place on Sunday, February 18 at 11:00AM. This is a very rare opportunity to skijor on some of the best maintained ski trails in Fairbanks.

This year due to requests we are offering a “No Whiz” option which is a slightly gentler and shorter course that omits the somewhat daunting Big Whizzy.

Race distances are a hair over 3 miles (“No Whiz”,) 4.5 miles or 9 miles. Racers can compete in a one, two or three dog class.  As always, beginners are welcome and encouraged to participate!

Registration: 10-10:30AM in the Ski Hut next to the IARC building. Race meeting will be at 10:40AM. Race starts at 11:00AM.

Race Fees: $10 if you pre-register by 5:00PM Saturday, February 17, $15 on race day. To pre-register, email Kathleen Boyle, kmboyle1720@gmail.com.  Half of the entry fees will be donated to the UAF trails club.

How much – $10 for members, $15 non-members (membership forms will be available); $5 discount for both categories if you preregister by Saturday, December 16

If the temperature at the Fairbanks airport is below -15 at 9:30 on race day, the race will be canceled. The hotline won’t be updated this weekend so if the race is canceled, I’ll send out an email to the group.
