We’re crossing our fingers and doing a snow dance for just a bit more snow for the season’s first fun race! This race will take place on 11/17 at Creamer’s Field (weather permitting). Check-in starts at 6pm with the race starting at 7pm. We are offering a 3 mile individual distance and a 3×1 mile relay race. Cost is $15 for the 3 mile individual and $25 for a 3×1 mile relay team (cash or check please.) Wear your brightest gear, lights (this is a great time to pull out those Noxgear products) and headlamps to light the night for this very special Glow Race! Treats for all participants and everyone gets entered for prizes!
Skijoring Long Distance workshop

Beginning of the 2023-24 skijoring season: October events!
Edit 10/6/23: With the recent snowfall the Glow race at Birch Hill will be cancelled as they are transitioning to ski-only. The beginner clinics will continue as scheduled! Thank you for your understanding.
It’s that time of the year again to prepare for snow and the skijoring season! We have some exciting events happening in October “before the snow flies.”
First off is a dryland race on 10/13/23 at Birch Hill warming hut: registration starts at 6pm with the race starting at 7pm. This “glow” themed race for running or walking your dogs has 2 available distances: a 5k or a relay made up of 3×1 mile loops (bring a friend.) Cost is $15 for the 5k or $25 (cash or check) for the relay team. The Birch Hill stadium lights will not be on so wear a headlamp, flashing lights, noxgear vests or bright colored clothing! Minors are welcome but are required to have a parent present to sign the waiver! Treats will be provided after the run for all participants!
We will also have 2 dryland beginner’s clinics this year for anyone who is curious about skijoring and would like to know where to start. The first date available is 10/8/23 and the second date is 10/28/23. These will take place at Musher’s Hall at 1pm. Cost is $20 per person (cash or check.)

Final Virtual Races: #5 and #6!
Thanks all for being so patient waiting for the final races of the series. With the fast change in weather we’re deciding to announce race 5 and 6 all at once.
Starting immediately a 4.75 mile loop has been made off of Iniakuk Ave. To access the course follow Iniakuk off of Farmer’s Loop to Henrik Court. Park in the circle without blocking driveways. The course will be marked with lime green/yellow survey flags (these will always be on your left) . Take the trail out and take the first left. Follow it around until you see the ADMA 19.8 turnoff. Keep following that trail around until the next major junction and take the right hand turn (turn offs ~2.5 and 3 miles: look for the flags guiding you into these turns.) This turn is the one that wasn’t groomed at all on Sunday though so that’s the only part that could be tricky as it is more narrow. Follow around back to the start (make sure to keep the flags on your left.)
Report your results (race #5 Iniakuk Loop).
The 6th and final race will be set up Saturday morning at Creamer’s Field. We’ve decided to make this one a Covid-friendly in-person event beginning at the farmhouse at 11am on a freshly groomed course, however, I will leave the course set-up until Sunday for anyone who can’t make that time or prefers the virtual option. This will be an out and back course for a total of ~6 miles. Course map to be sent out later this week! Anyone can attend, however, to be timed you will need to fill out the consent/sign-up form prior to arrival and only participants that have signed up for the virtual series will get credit towards the race series prizes.

Results for both races will be due by 11:59pm on 4/18/21.

Virtual Race #4: Isberg
The 4th (of 6 if weather permits) will take place at a new course: Isberg trails! The course is a 2.5 mile loop starting and finishing at the parking area on Oboe Court. The course is marked with pink pin flags and orange arrows. From the start line the course runs along a straight, gradual downhill section of trail for 1 mile. There is then a sharp right hand turn onto the powerline trail. This section of trail starts gradual downhill followed by some climbing including one very steep section. Follow this trail until making a right hand turn at the power line T junction and heading downhill towards the finish. This race will run immediately through 3/14/2021, however, the course may not be kept after 3/13/2021 so get out before the cold kicks in!
Step 1: If you haven’t already signed up for the series by purchasing a membership and 2021 Virtual race fees head to the ASPA Store to purchase both (if you have already paid for a membership and race fees you do not need to purchase these again for the remainder of the series.)
Step 2: Once you have paid complete the pre-race waiver PRIOR to racing!
Step 3: Race the course as many times as you would like.
Step 4: After you complete the course submit your results prior to 11:59pm on 2/21/2021 here.
Step 5: Share with friends and family who might be interested!
