Correction: The 5K race is not an accredited IFSS race. Sorry for our confusion!

The Alaska Skijor & Pulk Association, in conjunction with TRAX Outdoor Center is holding their annual race at Birch Hill on March 6th.

DISTANCES: Men’s and Women’s 10k 1-dog and 2-dog (mass start). Mixed 5k 1, 2 or 3-dog (interval start) and the flag-wielding 2k relay. We are pleased to announce that the 10k race (1 and 2-dog only) is an IFSS accredited event! However, you do not have to be competing for World Cup points to be in the 10k race.

COST: 1-dog, $20, ASPA members $15. 2-dog, $25, ASPA members $20 (Relay included) “Day-of “ registration is $10 extra

Cash prizes for the top two finishers in the 10k races. All racers can win prizes from our many sponsors. Sign-in and registration begins at 8:00 am.

TRAX will be hosting our first ever “Birch Bash” on Friday, March 4 from 5-8pm! Free food, drinks, a HUGE storewide sale and a First Friday showing will be going on in the yoga studio. Once you have signed up for the race, TRAX will be offering racers a discount on ski waxing starting Monday, February 29th Contact Chris Burrow at lewjohkennel@gmail.com for more information, or to sign up.

Not skijoring? VOLUNTEER! We can always use dog-loving people to help with timing, at the start line, or anything else that pops up.
