Our trail tour will take place on the Cache Creek Trail, located at approximately 8.5 mile Murphy Dome Road (turn left onto Cache Creek Road, soon after you cross Spinach Creek.) Parking is to your right immediately after you turn onto Cache Creek; leave space around dog trucks if there are any parked there. We have a good link to this trail on our website, https://www.alaskaskijoring.org/trailinfo/cachecreektrail.html
This will be a six or ten mile trip depending on where you choose to turn back. With our current trail conditions, I would recommend one dog. I would say based more on current trail conditions than anything else that this is probably not a great trail tour for beginners. If anyone wants to come along on skis without dogs to check it out you are certainly welcome. No loose dogs. Moose, dog teams, bikers, variable trail conditions, snowshoe hares, and squirrels are all possible.
We leave promptly at 1 pm. It is always good to bring a small pack with some extra clothes and a headlamp, just in case. Trail tours are free to club members and $5 for non-members.
