Trail Tour Sunday December 29

December 27, 2013 by stabbert

This week’s tour will be on the Parks Ridge trail, and it will be an out-and-back, distances determined by participants. This is a fairly wide, groomed mushing trail with some big hills. Be prepared to both snowplow and do some work on the return. If you have really strong dogs you might power down for this one.

Time: 1 pm, Sunday

Temp cutoff: It should be far warmer than the airport up there. If it is -10 at 11:30 at BIRCH HILL we will cancel. Their weather line: 457-4837.

Location: Take the Parks Highway past Ester. After you pass the Cripple Creek intersection, look for the next road to the right called Milkmaid. Take Milkmaid up the hill until it intersects with Parks Ridge road. Turn left and take the road all the way to the end. There is a parking area; park along the sides so dog teams coming up the road can easily get to the trail. Questions? stabbert@hotmail.com or call Sara at 479 0456.
